the maiden out of the Quietness Village，under the tender sun，
可以在三月的娇阳下读出
can read the joyful expression of golden cole flower
金黄金黄的油菜花？幸福着受孕的表情
under conception.
可以左手捧着土？右手捧着水
with soil in the left hand，and water the right，
品？人神合一的天母？仰面朝天的幸福
she can taste the syncretic happiness of the land lying on its back.
四月来临？走出静安庄的女子
as April is approaching，the maiden out of the Quietness Village
已经？出落的更加迷人
has grown more enchanting，a mellow beauty sending forth
一种成熟的美？从她修竹一样的身后
from her tall，willowy body.
散发出来？读书？写字
she reads books，writes characters，
开一片高贵的新白夜酒吧
starts a new，grand White Night pub，
写一段诗化的文字
and composes a passage of poetic words.

the maiden out of the Quietness Village
在四月的细雨中
in the mizzle of April
如同一枚熟透的果子
looks like a ripe fruit.
那棵树？太高太大
It is a pity that that tree is too tall and high
我看不清树冠？也看不清树的对面
for me to see clearly its crown and its opposite.
只有一枚果子？悬挂在
the only one fruit on the tree，hanging
细细的雨中？睁着
in the slender drizzle，looks down at me
大大的眼睛？水灵灵的
with a pair of big and
向我俯视
bright eyes.
现在是五月？是一个小有收获的季节
it is in May now，in a season of harvest
走出静安庄的女子？象一幅会走动的画
the maiden out of the Quietness Village，
被一群？被称作美女的画家簇拥着
like a moving painting，is surrounded by painters of beauty.
我看到一只高脚杯和一群高脚杯
see a goblet，a bunch of goblets and a bottle of
一片幻觉的光？一个醉？一瓶洋酒
Iimported wine in an illusionary ray.
这里是北京？是一个被称作刀的光头诗人
here in Beijing，in a pub named
在北京开设的？叫？
Three Guizhouese ，which is run
三个贵州人的酒店
by a bald-headed poet named Knife，
走出静安庄的女子？就坐在我的对面
the maiden out of the Quietness Village is
向我微笑

————谨以此诗献给刚刚回归诗坛的路东——To East Road who just came back to Parnassus
和城市同居在一起
To shack up with the city，
每晚要付出的很多
every night you have to pay very much.
男人嘛？从上半身到下半身
as a man，from top to toe，
从精神到物质
both spiritually and materially，
市场经济了花花草草很多
he will come across various aspects in a market economy.
总之？除了身上的百来十斤属于你
anyway，according to a CFO，
用财务总监的话说余
except over a hundred weights on the body belonging to you，
都为低值易耗品
the extras are all low value consumables.
和城市同居不仅要习惯付出
to shack up with the city，you should not only get used to paying and giving，
还要学会算计收入
but also learn to calculate what you can take：such as，
这一晚喝了人家几两酒
how much wine you drank tonight，
那一宿泡了人家几个妞
how many hot chicks you picked up that night，
哥儿几个合谋？在哪个渡假村
or how and where you can go in cahoots with
宰了哪个发大了的兄弟一把
several pals and rip off that buddy who made a good fortune ……
要学会一项一项仔细算计
all of these you must calculate cautiously one after another，
不求有多大赚头但求个心中舒坦
not for a handsome gain but to feel at ease.
入不敷出的日子咱哥儿们不过
we pals don’t want to live a life beyond our means，
佛光掠影下的潇洒？何乐而不为之
why not live smartly in the city light.
和城市同居久了
having been shacked up with the city for too long，
对同居的城市自然有了感情
naturally you would have tender feelings for it，
天边的云？湖中的水
for the clouds beyond the horizon，for the water in lakes，
街道上的美腿靓妹
for the pretty girls with slim legs in the streets，
地摊前的淫言秽语
and for obscene and foul words before the tiny stalls.
总之这一切？会在日复一日中
all in all，day after day，all these would
浸入你的肌体
immerse into your body，
从视觉到听觉？从嗅觉到触觉
from what you look at，listen to，smell and feel.
这是一种感觉？一种习以为常
it is just a feeling that you have been accustomed to.
当？这种习以为常
when you have been accustomed to all these and
变成习以为你以后
think that’s always the case，
触景生情的怅然和兔死狐悲的呦働
