第48章 The State of Cham... (5)

You should change your horse into a sandalwood tree and change the 300 arrows flighted with tail feathers, your breastplate and bow into a compete forest.

Sadain will go out for a walk when he sees the forest.

He will get excited when he goes past the forest and climbs over the mountain.

Then he will be delighted to have a bath in the lake.

Then you should change into a fish with golden eyes and swim into his stomach, to kill him, when he is thirsty and drinks some water.

You can change back into your gear later and destroy his orphans completely.”

When Gesar woke up he was delighted. He followed his aunt’s orders and conquered King Sadain and the State of Cham.

The Cham troops saw the death of King Sadain on the lakefront and they reported it to Princess Bema at once.

Princess Bema, who had extraordinary power, was the Heavenly Maid who came to Earth from Heaven. She had known about the death of Sadain without any messages. When she saw the ministers arrive with the message, she said calmly:

“You don’t need to say much. The death of King Sadain was destined because he didn’t take my advice and invaded the State of Ling and wanted to occupy the Salt Lake. Now, I will meet with the Lion King Gesar. I, the same as Sengcham Cholmo and Mesa Poingyi, have three experiences. Half of Cholmo’s life was spent in Hor, Mesa’s in the Devil State and mine in Cham. Those half lives were only to conquer the Devil. Finally we will meet in the Dragon Palace and enjoy peace together. There’s no need to be frightened. As long as you confess your former sins and swear that you will never kill any more people, I will plead on your behalf.”

The ministers could do or say nothing about it and accepted the result.

Before the army breached the palace of Cham, Chilha Genbo, the veteran General, was unwilling to surrender and he declared he would fight against the Ling troops with his life and take revenge for his king. He went into battle and killed many soldiers.

For many days, Chilha Genbo won every battle and killed too many Ling soldiers. The dead bodies had piled up like a small mountain. The Ling soldiers were in disorder and even the Lion King Gesar saw no way out of the difficulty.

One night, as King Gesar and the heroes were holding a meeting to find a solution, his Heavenly horse Gyaingar Pebo said suddenly:

“Although you heroes are highly skilled and brave, it is destined that Chilha will not die in your hands. It is pointless for you to fight any longer.”

“How can we withdraw the troops if we cannot break into the Cham City and Chilha will not die?” Dainma cut in rapidly.

“Don’t be in a hurry, Dainma, I have a good idea. There is no need to fight with him when he comes out tomorrow. As he goes back to Cham, I will intercept him with 30 other horses on his way back. When he mounts me, I will take him up into the air and throw him into the poisonous sea.”

The next day, Chilha charged into the Ling camp again. He mounted the Heavenly horse Gyaingar Pebo on his way back. Suddenly green wings grew on the horse’s back and it flew off with Chilha, who was extremely frightened. Gyaingar Pebo flew further and quickly arrived above the poisonous sea. He bucked and threw Chilha into the sea where he died.

The news that Chilha was thrown into the poisonous sea spread quickly to Cham City. The palace was in chaos. The Cham State had no more power to fight against the State of Ling.

The troops of Ling had gained the victory eventually and the heroes celebrated with their king. In the end, Cham Queen Bema, with Prince Yutri on her left and Prince Kuntri on her right, kowtowed to the Lion King.

Gesar stood up to welcome and comfort them:

“You don’t need to be scared for you have done nothing sinful. Prince Yulha is in the State of Ling already and you may go there to meet him. There is a castle of red coral in the east of Ling where the four of you can live.”

Princess Bema and the two princes knelt down and expressed great thanks to Gesar.

The Lion King withdrew his troops back to the State of Ling. Ever since, the States of Ling and Cham have lived in peace and harmony and have enjoyed a happy life together.
