Built in the Huangshan Mountain， it was used as the residence of Zhang Zhizhong and Chiang Ching-kuo respectively during the Anti-Japanese War. Since the end of 1945， General George C. Marshall， the special envoy of the US president， lived here as the mediator of the conflict between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party.
