刘禹锡（772～842），字梦得，洛阳（今河南省洛阳）人，唐代诗人。政治上主张革新，是王叔文派政治革新活动的中心人物之一。后被贬为郎州司马、连州刺史，晚年任太子宾客。
他的一些诗歌反映了作者进步的思想，其学习民歌写成的《竹枝词》等诗具有新鲜活泼、健康开朗的显著特色，情调上独具一格。语言简朴生动，情致缠绵，其代表作有《乌衣巷》、《秋词》、《竹枝》（六）、《浪淘沙》（一）、《浪淘沙》（八）、《杨柳枝》（一）、《西塞山怀古》、《酬乐天扬州初逢席上见赠》等，其中《竹枝》（六）中“道是无晴（情）却有晴（情）”句为著名的双关语，足见诗人之匠心独具。其诗结有《刘宾客集》。

王浚楼船下益州，金陵王气黯然收。
千寻铁锁沉江底，一片降幡出石头。
人世几回伤往事，山形依旧枕寒流。
从今四海为家日，故垒萧萧芦荻秋。
