第65章 POWER OF THE MASTER MIND(3)

The list of the chief sources from which POWERmay be attained is, as you have seen, headed byINFINITE INTELLIGENCE. When two or more peoplecoordinate in a spirit of HARMONY, and worktoward a definite objective, they place themselvesin position, through that alliance, to absorb powerdirectly from the great universal storehouse ofInfinite Intelligence. This is the greatest of allsources of POWER. It is the source to which thegenius turns. It is the source to which every greatleader turns, (whether he may be conscious of thefact or not).

The other two major sources from which the knowledge, necessary for the accumulation ofPOWER, may be obtained are no more reliable thanthe five senses of man. The senses are not alwaysreliable. Infinite Intelligence DOES NOT ERR.

In subsequent chapters, the methods by whichInfinite Intelligence may be most readily contactedwill be adequately described.

This is not a course on religion. No fundamentalprinciple described in this book should be interpretedas being intended to interfere either directly, orindirectly, with any man’s religious habits. This bookhas been confined, exclusively, to instructing thereader how to transmute the DEFINITE PURPOSE OFDESIRE FOR MONEY, into its monetary equivalent.

Read, THINK, and meditate as you read. Soon, the entire subject will unfold, and you will see it inperspective. You are now seeing the detail of theindividual chapters.

Money is as shy and elusive as the “old time”

maiden. It must be wooed and won by methods notunlike those used by a determined lover, in pursuitof the girl of his choice. And, coincidental as it is,the POWER used in the “wooing” of money is notgreatly different from that used in wooing a maiden.

That power, when successfully used in the pursuit ofmoney must be mixed with FAITH. It must be mixedwith DESIRE. It must be mixed with PERSISTENCE.

It must be applied through a plan, and that plan mustbe set into ACTION.

When money comes in quantities known as “thebig money,” it flows to the one who accumulatesit, as easily as water flows down hill. There existsa great unseen stream of POWER, which may becompared to a river; except that one side flows inone direction, carrying all who get into that sideof the stream, onward and upward to WEALTH—and the other side flows in the opposite direction, carrying all who are unfortunate enough to get intoit (and not able to extricate themselves from it),downward to misery and POVERTY.

Every man who has accumulated a great fortune, has recognized the existence of this stream of life. Itconsists of one’s THINKING PROCESS. The positiveemotions of thought form the side of the streamwhich carries one to fortune. The negative emotionsform the side which carries one down to poverty.

This carries a thought of stupendous importanceto the person who is following this book with theobject of accumulating a fortune.

If you are in the side of the stream of POWERwhich leads to poverty, this may serve as an oar, bywhich you may propel yourself over into the otherside of the stream. It can serve you ONLY throughapplication and use. Merely reading, and passingjudgment on it, either one way or another, will in noway benefit you.

Some people undergo the experience of alternatingbetween the positive and negative sides of thestream, being at times on the positive side, and attimes on the negative side. The Wall Street crashof 29 swept millions of people from the positive tothe negative side of the stream. These millions arestruggling, some of them in desperation and fear, toget back to the positive side of the stream. This bookwas written especially for those millions.

Poverty and riches often change places. The Crashtaught the world this truth, although the world willnot long remember the lesson. Poverty may, andgenerally does, voluntarily take the place of riches.

When riches take the place of poverty, the changeis usually brought about through well conceivedand carefully executed PLANS. Poverty needs noplan. It needs no one to aid it, because it is bold andruthless. Riches are shy and timid. They have to be“attracted.”
