Brocade of Spring, a Qing Dynasty(1644.1911) hanging scroll by Giuseppe Castiglione, ink and color on silk, 169.2cm×95.2cm, in the collection of the Palace Museum, Taipei.
It is a masterpiece combining both Chinese and Western painting techniques. Golden pheasants are painted with Western styles, but rocks, spring-fed stream, flowers, trees and the whole layout are of Chinese characteristics.
