Brocade of Spring， a Qing Dynasty（1644.1911） hanging scroll by Giuseppe Castiglione， ink and color on silk， 169.2cm×95.2cm， in the collection of the Palace Museum， Taipei.
It is a masterpiece combining both Chinese and Western painting techniques. Golden pheasants are painted with Western styles， but rocks， spring-fed stream， flowers， trees and the whole layout are of Chinese characteristics.
