Sweet-scented Osmanthus， a Qing Dynasty（1644. 1911） hanging scroll by Jiang Tingxi， ink and color on silk， 172.8cm×74.5cm， in the collection of the Palace Museum， Taipei.
Jiang Tingxi（1669.1732）， a court painter in the Qing Dynasty， did well in drawing flowers and birds. His flower-and-bird paintings were labeled as “Jiang Style.” His extant works include Bamboo and Rocks， Flowers， Wild Chrysanthemum and Four Auspicious Objects. Sweet-scented Osmanthus has graceful colors and uses neat painting techniques. The poem inscribed by Emperor Kangxi makes it more glamorous.
