Grow Great by Dreams

The question was once asked of a highly successful businessman, “How have you done so much in your lifetime?”

He replied, “I have dreamed. I have turned my mind loose to imagine what I wanted to do. Then I have gone to bed and thought about my dreams. In the night I dreamt about my dreams. And when I awoke in the morning, I saw the way to make my dreams real. While other people were saying, ‘You can’t do that, it is impossible’, I was well on my way to achieving what I wanted.” As Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the U.S., said, “We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers.”

They see things in the soft haze of a spring day, or in the red fire on a long winter’s evening. Some of us let these?dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nourish them through bad days until they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true.

So please, do not let anyone steal your dreams, or try to tell you they are?too impossible.

“Sing your songs, and dream your dreams, hope your hope and pray your prayer.”

When Calamity Knocks at Your Door

A girl grumbled to her father about her hard life. She did not know what she had to do and wanted to give up. She felt ignored for fighting and fighting. One problem has been finished but the other overcame.

Her father, a cook, took her into the kitchen. He poured water into three pans and boiled them. After boiling, in the first pan was put some carrots, in the second one was put some eggs and in the last one was put with coffee. He waited for them for a few minutes without any words from his mouth.

The girl closed her mouth and waited impatiently, confused by what her father did. After approximately 20 minutes, her father turned off the stove, took out the carrots and put them in a bowl. He took the eggs and put them in a bowl. After that the coffee was poured into a cup.

Turning back to his daughter, he asked,” My sweet heart, what do you see?” “Carrots, eggs and coffee!” She replied.

Her father told her to close her eyes and asked her to touch the carrots. She did and felt that the carrots were soft. After that he asked her to take the eggs and break them. After peeling them, she got the eggs, cooked and hard. The last, the father asked her to smell the coffee. She asked,” What’s the meaning, father?” He explained that each had suffered?the same unfortunate experience--the boiling water, but each had a different reaction. The strong and hard carrots had become soft and weak after being in the boiling water. The fragile eggs with thin epidermis covering the liquid interior became hard after cooked. The coffee grounds were very unique, but they could change water.

“Who are you?” asked the father,” When calamity knocks at your door, what is your reaction? Are you carrots, eggs or coffee?”

Roses for Rose

Red roses were her favorites, her name was also Rose. And every year her husband sent them, tied with pretty bows. The year he died, the roses were delivered to her door. The card said, “Be my Valentine,”like all the years before.

Each year he sent her roses, and the note would always say, “I love you even more this year, than last year on this day.” My love for you will always grow, with every passing year. ”She knew this was the last time that the roses would appear. She thought, he ordered roses in advance before this day. Her loving husband did not know that he would pass away. He always liked to do things early. Then, if he got too busy, everything would work out fine. She trimmed the stems, and placed them in a very special vase. Then, sat the vase beside the portrait of his smiling face. She would sit for hours, in her husband’s favorite chair. While staring at his picture, and the roses sitting there.
