The controversial issue of illegal immigrants in the United States has always been the focus these days．I was totally astonished when I first saw the protests with crowd shouting crazily and flags fluttering onthe streets．It was then I fully realized that it was just so common to have so many protesters gathering together in front of the Old Capital．Unlike Iowa，there are the sands of demonstrators marching throughout the downtown in big cities like Los Angeles and Chicago．I did hear people saying that all the Mexicans in the United States were going to take on a boycott,but I didn’t quite believe and took it as an exagger-ated hoax．
Not until the day when I found all the Mexicans were gone in ESL did I clearly realize I was terribly wrong．Ms．Tiffany said that they would not come until the next morning．I was truly surprised．Even insuch a small city like Iowa，all the Mexicans loyally refuse to go to school or work for their countrymen．How much courage should they have to make a decision like this and how united they must be to be-have unanimously！
I was not sure whether their boycott would really Work,neither did those Mexicans，I believe．However，I do think that their unity of a na-tion would have them conquer all the challenges coming up to them．The United States was just a country containing so many cultures．Thus．to the foreigners living here，the reflection of the spirit of their respec- live cultures seems more important than anything else．I couldn"t help writing down “Well，this is America，a place where almost all the af-fairs are associated with the spirit of a nation．”
