I didn’t know when I became adaptable to studying here．During the first a few weeks，I took my first chemistry test chemistry No．101 test．I just did a wonderful job as the teacher“Mrs．Secrist”Praised me in the class．As a new foreign student，I got an“A”mark in my first test，which I had learned for only a week．It sur Drised her a lot．Just before the test，she had worried about my grade and consoled me to take it easy．In fact，the test was easy for me．The key points in the test could all be found in the textbooks．In other words，if you have read the textbook before，the problems won’t be hard for you to figure out．The aim of the lest is obvious merely trying to check whether students have routinely finished the reading task the teacher has normally assigned．
The American study still seemed to the hardest part of the study．I had to spend most of my time on it．Quantities of new vocabularies con-fused me much．All the texts were about certain presidents，pollcies,rights and movements．I got all those messy in mind．I worked really hard on it．I read the material so slowly that I often went to bed ataround eleven since I got my assignments in this subject．I had my first quiz in American study．I was extremely nervous when the sheet was passed to me with hands almost beginning to tremble．It was much easi-er than my imagination，anyway．I still got some problems cotffused in the quiz and finally got 7 points out of 10．It was not a high score．ac-tually the lowest in the class，but I still felt happy because I did my best．I thought my efforts paid off in the second and third quiz．I got all those quizzes full marked．People couldn"t imagine how excited I was at that time．Unfortunately，however，when the exam came for the whole chapter，I failed the test which I only got 33 points out of 45．The hard-est thing in the chapter test for me was to write essays according to the historic events．That kind of writing was named document-based-ques-tions which we all called "DBQ" in short．It was very much to mv as-tonishment that how on earth history which back in China is normall vreferred to as merely a by-course requires us to write essayes in the there！When I received my documents，I had great difficulties under-standing the topic deeply．What’s more，I wrote slowly．When I finally finished my first paragraph，the American students around me had all finished a complete essay．When the class ended．I still had a lot unfin-ished．The teacher “Mr．Gross” seemed to be amenable all owing meto take the essay home and bringing it the next day．It was kind of himand I did finish it with my best ability although I didn"t know whether it was right or suitable for the topics given．Now，I still have a lot of difficulties understanding everything he talked in class，but I think it was better than before．I worked so hard，and I thought that was the reward．
The English class was kind of easy．We watched English movies whole class sometimes．On Valentines Day，We celebrated together in class．Valentines Day here was not a festival only for lovers but also achance for us students to show friendship or kindness to others．We ate lots of chocolates and made card by ourselves．In coincidence，it was Ms Lyons’s birthday that day．We also shared her birthday cake and gave her our best wishes．I laughed and chatted a lot in class．Basically，We had a lot of freedoln there．
As for algebra and geometry，I still felt the subjects fairly easy．The teacher was so kind．She would always explain our confusions in patience and smiles．I always got full marks in the everyday assign-ments．I found that teachers here were very meticulous about students’assignment．The corrective marks were always full of the paper．Teach-ers here seldom wrote“X”in your homework．Instead,they Would write a little red“V”next to your wrong words to show the mistakesto you，which was different from what we do in China．
The second trimester was almost over．On the last day of the trimester，I had one day off．During the day off,I checked my grades onthe Centerpoint，which was a page on our school web site where we could check all our grades flee．All of my subjects got A except for American study．I got science，algebra and geometry all A+．The only regret table thing was that I only got B+in my American study．Anyway．I was satisfied with my grade in this trimester after all I have studied for a month only．
