玛土撒拉生下拉麦后，又活了七百八十二年，期间生育了其他的子女。

在九百六十九岁时，玛土撒拉死了。

拉麦在一百八十二岁时，生下一个儿子。

拉麦将儿子取名为挪亚，拉麦说：“当大地被耶和华咒诅，我们不得不终日辛苦劳累时，这个儿子会带给我们希望。”

挪亚在五百岁时，生下了三个儿子，分别命名为闪、含、雅弗。
