A:What are you going to major in？
你打算学什么专业？
B:I have’t made up my mind yet.Maybe Chinese or education.
还没有决定。可能是中文或是教育学吧。
A:Chinese or education？Don’t you think that’s boring？
中文或是教育学。你不觉得它们很沉闷吗？
B:Mm...sometimes they maybe boring,but on the whole they suit me.
嗯，有时候也许会，但是总的来说它们比较适合我。
A:What do you think is the use of studying that？
那这些专业有什么用呢？
B:I’m not sure,but at lease I can become a teacher after graduation.
我也不太清楚。至少我毕业后可以当老师啊。
A:OK,but I still think that economics is more useful and promising.
好吧。不过我还是认为经济学比较有用而且有前途。
B:I really don’t like economics and it will be painful if I took it.I’d rather choose something I’m more interested in.
我真的不喜欢经济学，如果学这个专业我会很痛苦。我宁可选择我比较感兴趣的专业。
Dialogue Two
A:What do you like？
你喜欢什么呢？
B:I’m interested in world literature.But my parents want me study computer sciences.They said that it was more useful than literature.
我喜欢世界文学。可是我的父母想让我学计算机。他们觉得计算机比文学更有用。
A:Oh,no.Literature is as useful as computer sciences.Both of the outstanding scientists and great writers made contributions to the whole world and manking as well.
并不是这样的。文学和计算机同样有用。科学家和文学家都为全世界和人类作出过很大的贡献。
B:You are quite right.How nice it would be if only my parents could see things in that way!
没错。要是我的父母能这么看问题就好了！
A:If I were you,I would explain that to my parents.Yours parents will probably change their mind and support your choice.
我要是你就会跟我的父母解释清楚这一点。或许他们会改变想法而赞成你的选择。
B:Oh,yes.I never really explain that way.
我知道了。我以前从未这样解释过。
A:That’s where the problem lies.If you give them the facts that show the impertance of your choice,they will see the major you choose is really a good one.
这就是问题所在。如果你列出事实，让他们认识到你的选择也同样重要，他们会慢慢明白你选择的是一个很好的专业。
B:Surely they will.Thank you for your advice.
