Statue 6：Facing the Sea Soul：Speechless
——致西部诗人伊沙
To the western poet Yisha
海魂站在水中央说
standing in the middle of the water the sea soul said
来吧孩子
“come here my kid
这里的水更温暖
the water here is warmer
这里的海流缓慢
the ocean current here flows slowly
水的下面风和日丽
under the water the Sun is beautiful and the breeze gentle
这里有美人一样的鱼儿
There are fish as beauty
有海草长发飘飘
sea grasses fluttering their long hair
其实在水的深处海妖并不可怕
in the deep water，actually the sea demon is not horrible like
人们传说中的海妖
the sea demon in folk tales；
是我早年遗失的女儿
she is my daughter lost in my early years
妖儿是可爱的妖儿的智慧和
the demon is lovely her wisdom and
邪恶善良和残忍
evil kindness and ruthless
你只有和她耐心相处以后
only after getting along with her patiently
才能知道
could you understand that”
站在水中的海魂说
the sea soul standing in the water said
我要告诉你的是海葵的父亲
“what I want to tell you is that the sea anemone’s father
原来就是强盗所以这里的海葵
is a robber so the sea anemones here
并不像陆地上的向日葵那么可爱
are not as lovely as the sunflowers on land
这里的海葵阴险的不想见阳光
the sea anemones here are too insidious to want to see the sunshine
每天都躲在海床的崖缝里
they hiding in the cliff crack of the sea bed
暗暗策划水下阴谋
planning secretly the underwater scheme
企图用笼罩着泡沫的谎言
attempts to use the lies shrouded in foam
来荼毒我们的灵魂
to torment our soul”
海魂问我孩子
the sea soul asked me “my kid，
你说海马是海洋的战马吗
tell me are the sea horses the war horses of the sea？”
我摇头又点头
I am shaking and nodding
海魂慈祥的微笑着
the sea soul smiles amiably
其实用战争征服对手的做法
“actually the practice of defeating one’s opponents by war
在海洋深处是不存在的
does not exist in the deep ocean
马放南山所以水中的海马
grazing horses on South Hill so the sea horses in the water
已经退化到只负责
have degenerated only in charge of
喂养孩子的位置海牛在海里
feeding their children the sea cows in the water
也不用耕田城市化了
need not plough they have urbanized
海牛现在已经成群成群的
nowadays crowds of sea cows
迁徙到了城里的海洋馆里
have migrated to the aquarium in the city”
知道虾吧海魂余兴未尽
“you know shrimps”the sea soul went on with lingering interest
虾的鳌比刀更厚更有力
“compared to a knife the shrimp chelas are thicker and stronger
刀是什么一种密度
what is a knife？A kind of substance
比另一种密度更加紧密的
whose density is much closer than another
物质钢刀铁刀
steel knife iron knife
木刀竹片刀
wood knife bamboo knife
杀戮是有对象的据我所知
slaughter needs targets as far as l know
有的时候温柔
at times tenderness
或愤怒的眼神也是一把
or the look given by a wrathful eye is also a knife
可以切开人们心灵的刀
that could cut souls apart
但你要知道孩子虾的鳌
but you should know，my kid，shrimp chelas
是可以上下用力的剪
can put forth their strength up and down shear
明白啦剪杀的力量
understand that shearing power
较之于砍杀的力量在水中
compared with cutting power in the water
来的更自然更直接
is more natural more direct
更有杀伤力所以在水中
and more powerful therefore in the water
虾一般用剪横行的螃蟹
shrimps generally using shears the crossing crabs
手中握着的也是剪
held in their hands are also shears
而不是刀芭焦叶
but not knives plantain leaves
木风铃大片大片的椰子树
wooden Aeolian bells and so many coconut trees”
海神的眼神由明亮转入暗淡
the eyes of the sea soul turn from bright to dim
独木舟本来是上苍赐给人类
“the dugout at first is granted to humans by God
泅渡水面的无轮车子可是
to swim across the water as a wheel-less car however
人类太聪明也太贪婪
mankind is too clever and too greedy
人类用法网游戏用渔网
human using the net of justice to play games using a fishnet
来扑捉鱼虾人类一面说着
to catch fish and shrimps on the one hand people saying
赞美的语言一面肆意剥夺
praising words on the other hand wantonly depriving
其它生命我们磨刀霍霍
other lives -we sharpen our knives
也是为了有一天能用水中的剪
so that one day we can use the shears in the water
来剪断人类强加给海洋的强权
to cut down the might imposed to the ocean by human beings
来吧孩子
come，my kids”
海魂站在水中央说
the sea soul said in the middle of the water
只有你知道海水为什么
only you know why the seawater
这么蓝天为什么这么蓝
is that blue why the sky is that blue
只有你知道鸥群是白色的
only you know the gulls are white
只有你知道信天翁
only you know the albatross
我们的使者日行千里
our emissary flying a thousand li a day
给人类送去修好的文书
to send revised documents for mankind
为什么到现在还没有回来
why has it not returned up until now？

accompany the wind
一起玩弄山水
appreciating mountains and rivers together
与水为伍
associating with the water
一同泅渡度时光
swimming across the time together with you
我们可以把太阳幻化成
we can imagine the sun
心中最可爱
as the most lovely
最钟情的女子
and the favourite girl in my heart
幻化成能让我们心里发暖的
as the source of love
爱的源头
which makes our heart warm
然后采一朵野花
and then pick a wild flower
（我是说那种圆圆的小黄花）
（I mean that kind of small round yellow flower）
顶在头顶学着
carrying it on our heads learning from
学坏了的向日葵的样子
the evil-learned sunflower
瞪着色迷迷的眼睛
open its ogling eyes
对着太阳傻笑
giggling to the sun
傻傻的笑有些可笑
such a laugh a little funny
也有些让人烦烦人
and a little annoying funny
讨厌心烦意乱的太阳
and annoying the confused and worried sun
这时一定会
would certainly at this moment
用云彩捂住双眼娇嗔的
cover his eyes with clouds and pout prettily
骂我们一句骂的
giving us a scolding look
我们心里痒痒的
which makes our hearts itch
我们当然还可以
we could absolutely
把雨水想象成流动的美人
imagine the rain water as a flowing beauty
我是说那种叫五月红的
I mean such kind of beauty called May green
水萝卜一样一掐就淌水的美人
which is like a summer radish，damp once pinched
那种让你一看
such a kind of beauty
就永生难忘的美人
unforgettable once you behold it
我们可以把河流潇洒转身的
we can imagine the place
地方想象成
where the river turns casually and elegantly
这个美人柔软的腰肢
as the flexible waist of this beauty
把河流平缓一些的水面
and imagine the gentler water of the river
想象成这个美人的腹部
as the abdomen of the beauty
能放牧三千只羔羊的腹部
where three thousand sheep can be shepherded to
水草茂盛一泄千里
that place with plenty of water and lush grass stretching as far as the eye can see
再往上或再往下
how to imagine the upward or downward view
应该怎么想我不细说
I can not tell in detail
你一定会有你的想法的
you must have your own opinion
我是说这时的我们是幸福的
I mean we are happy at this very moment
幸福的一塌糊涂
so happy that we are in a complete mess
我们可以把星星
we can consider the stars
读成情敌的眼睛把月亮
as the eyes of a rival in love consider the Moon
读成爷爷挂在屋脊的
as cured meat hung on the ridge by grandfather
被石刀璇过的腊肉条
cured meat cut by stone knife
烟熏过的腊肉条
cured meat treated with smoke
滴着油滴的腊肉条
