ThenhetoldHippolytethewholereasonofhisvisit：howhehadkilledhiswifeandchildren，andbywhatmeanshehopedtowipeawayhisguilt．Shelistenedkindly，andatlastreplied：“Wewillfeastnow，andyouandyourfollowersshallrest．Tomorrowwewillspeakagainofthejewelledgirdle．”
