Mandarin Ducks under Withered Lotus, a Yuan Dynasty(1279.1368) hanging scroll by Zhang Zhong, ink and slight color on paper, 96.4cm×46cm, in the collection of the Palace Museum, Taipei.

Zhang Zhong, a famous flower-and-bird painter in the Yuan Dynasty, enjoyed equal fame with Wang Ruoshui and the pair was acclaimed as two great flower-and-bird painters at that time. It depicts withered lotus and mandarin ducks with freehand and meticulous techniques, showing author’s great skills.
