Zhang Wo, a Yuan Dynasty painter, was good at drawing landscapes, characters, and using line drawing technique of Li Gonglin. Thatched Hut in Bamboo Forest is the residence of famous person Yang Qian in his late years. Due to his fascination toward bamboo, Yang Qian plants over 1,000 bamboos near his residence and styles himself “Recluse in Bamboo Forest.” This one is a sketch of Thatched Hut in Bamboo Forest. Situated at the foot of mountain and beside stream, the abode is surrounded by pines and other trees. In such a quiet environment, the house owner sits on bed alone, seeming to watch bamboo groves across the stream.
