Chat in a Riverside Pavilion, a Ming Dynasty(1368. 1644) painting by Wen Zhengming, ink and color on paper, 64.5cm×33.1cm, in the collection of the Palace Museum, Taipei.
It is a typical landscape painting by “Wumen school of painting.” Two hermits sit leisurely in a thatched pavilion at the side of brook and have a chat. Around them is the tranquil and elegant environment: beautiful mountains and waters, and exuberant vegetations. It has a precise composition, light and elegant colors, and delicate brushwork.
