第67章 An Imitation of Beauty Paintings in Tang Dynasty -

An Imitation of Beauty Paintings in Tang Dynasty, a Ming Dynasty(1368.1644) hanging scroll by Tang Yin, ink and color on paper, 149.3cm×65.9cm, in the collection of the Palace Museum, Taipei.

It is one of the most important works of Tang Yin. Despite that it is a reproduction of Tang painting, Tang Yin’s own styles can still be seen in both brushwork and coloring. Screen, bed, bamboo mat, old qin(a seven-stringed plucked instrument), classic books and plum blossoms in the painting show painter’s identity as a scholar and his elegant inclinations. The scholar holds a painting scroll and concentrates on it. As wind blows curtains open, a lady with a just picked flower arrives, while another lady holding a vase in both hands is ready to arrange flowers.
