Enjoying Antiques,a Ming Dynasty(1368.1644) painting by Du Jin, ink and color on silk, 126.1cm×187cm, in the collection of the Palace Museum, Taipei.

Du Jin, a painter in the Ming Dynasty, was proficient at poem, calligraphy and painting. He liked to draw landscapes, flowers, animals, birds, and pavilions in particular. This painting depicts the scene that scholars in ancient times appreciate antiques. In an elegant atmosphere display all kinds of antiques, including copper wares like bell, dings(tripods), dui(ancient grain container) and li(ancient cooking tripod with hollow legs), porcelains like bottle, water can and censer, qin(a seven-stringed plucked instrument), Chinese chess, calligraphy and painting. It has a concise composition, simple but elegant colors.
