Pine, Bamboo, Plum and Birds, a Ming Dynasty(1368.1644) hanging scroll by Bian Wenjin, ink and color on silk, 151.3cm× 78.1cm, in the collection of the Palace Museum, Taipei.

Drawn in 1414, the twelfth year of Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty, it depicts “three friends in winter” (pine, bamboo and plum), rocks and hundreds of birds. Each bird has a different posture, lively shape, romantic charm and vigor, placing readers in a garden of birds.
