An Imitation of Zhao Mengfu’s Landscape Painting， a Qing Dynasty（1644.1911） painting by Wang Jian.
Wang Jian（1598.1677）， a famous painter in the Qing Dynasty， was good at landscape painting. His family had huge collection of famous paintings and he liked to reproduce them. His extant works are mainly copy works. Leading the literati painting of the Qing Dynasty， Wang Jian enjoyed equal fame with Wang Shimin， Wang Hui， Wang Yuanqi， Yun Shouping and Wu Li. The six persons were acclaimed as “Six Great Painters in the Early Qing Dynasty.”Wang Jian， Wang Shimin， Wang Hui and Wang Yuanqi were also refered as “Four Great Wang-surnamed Painters.” This one is a blue-and-green landscape painting with ancient styles and a representative painting of Wang Jian.
