Pulitzer said that the goddess is homeless， for the American people， is a disgrace！ The only way to save the goddess was raise funds as soon as possible. He also said， “We do not expect a millionaire to pay money， the Statue of Liberty is not a French millionaire to a U.S.millionaire， but all the French people gave gifts to the American people.”
Pulitzer donated 250 to take the lead himself， and appointed his subordinate Ray Weiss to be responsible for fundraising. His sincere and generous impressed the American people. The American people are donations activety.
In June 1885， the French “Ye Celeste” transport ship carried the 210 main pieces of the statue arrived in the United States， They were welcomed by the U.S. fleet and the“Emmons” leased by Pulitzer.
