看到非洲草原上充满生机的无名小草
Those nameless grasses in the African grassland
自然想起了佘山草？？佘山
Remind me of She Mount grass
上海怀中抱着的盆景
The bonsai in the hold of Shanghai
徐霞客四次朝觐的小山
The little mountain that was visited four times by Xu Xiake
有一种说不出名字的小草？？我们
There is a grass we don’t know the name of，We
不妨就叫她佘山草吧
Might as well call it “She Mount grass”
佘山草叶阔颈纤长
She Mount grass has broad and long necks
而呈蔓形？？立
With gnarled shape，standing
可成人状？？卧
Like a man，Crouching
则爬到哪里？？根就扎到哪里
To anywhere where he can take root
佘山草的叶？？怎么看都像上海人的耳朵
The leaves of She Mount grass look like the ear of Shanghai people in every way
厚而不失南方水润的叶
The leaves are thick and moist
和厚而不失南方人的精明的上海人的耳朵
And the thick and clever ears of Shanghai people
如出一辙？
Are similar
说到佘山草的颈
When talking about the neck of She Mount grass
那就更像上海人了？？粗细适中
That would look more like Shanghai People
能屈能伸？佘山草不仅以泥土为本
Could bend and stretch，She Mount grass could not only take earth foremost
还可以在晶莹的水中生根
But also roots in water
这一秉性？？就像老一辈上海人
The natural disposition is like that of the senior Shanghai people
宁愿在巴掌大的棚户里做爱生子
Would rather to make love and having children in shacks
也不愿离开黄浦江半步的固执
Than leaving Huangpu River half a step
没有两样
With no difference
插在瓶子里的佘山草
The She Mount grass placed in a vase
颈碧如玉？叶绿似茗
Has green necks and leaves
白嫩鲜活的根？？从细长的颈上伸展出来
White and active roots stretch out from long and slim necks
云朵一样盘踞在透明的水中
Lurking in the transparent water like a cloud flower
那份自足？？那份滋润和惬意
The comfort，moisture and ease
又让人联想到上海人的自足和自恋
Remind me of the self-sufficiency and self-love of Shanghai people
想到了黄浦江的风
And the wind of Huangpu River
为什么总是那么柔？？有时又有些
Is always soft sometimes
柔中有钢
Firm but gentle
上海人真的很聪明？
Shanghai people are smart
蜗居上海滩的上海人
Entrenching in the Shanghai Bund
硬是靠对故土的痴迷和恋恋不舍
Relying on the obsession and devotion
才顺其自然的随着浦东的崛起？一起
Along with the elevation of Pudong District
很男人的站了起来？？这又使我联想到
Stand up like a man，which reminds me
生长在佘山的佘山草？？
Of the She Mount grass in She Mount
也定会和精明的上海人一样
Must be like smart Shanghai people
伴着上海滩的崛起？顺其自然的
Along with the elevation of Shanghai Bund
很男人的？慢慢？？站立起来
Stand up like a man slowly and naturally

其实在非洲最遐意的休闲方式

莫过于搂着诗歌睡觉

我知道我不是三毛？来非洲我也没有
I know that I’m not San Mao，I don’t have
那么多时间去历险？我知道
Much time to adventure too，I know
我在非洲要做的事很多
That I have many things to do in Africa
当顶着灼热的骄阳？从事一段
Whiling basking in the sun，after
超体力或超脑力的劳动以后
Exhausting Hard work mentally or physically
你可以不去赌场？不去酒吧
You could not go to casino or bar
不去那些？可以让你
Those places that let you live a life of dreams
醉生梦死的地方？这时的你
At this moment you
可以找一片凉爽的树荫躺下来
Could find a cool umbrage
仰面朝天？学着那些没有身份的
Lying on you back，to follow suit with the
黑人的样子？仰面朝天的躺在那里
insignificant Black People，lying on their backs
对？就像在家乡当知青时晒春一样
Right，as you were basking in spring in your hometown as an educated young man
躺在有风走过的土岗子上其实这时的你
Lying on the mound
是一个很有身份的人？首先你是一个
Is somebody，first of all you are
很有身份的诗人？其次你还是一个
A decent poet，then you are
很有身份的外国人？第三你的行为
A decent foreigner，thirdly，your action
几乎以最简捷的方式？接近了
Approaches in the simplest way
这个国家的平民？这时的一切极端
Civilians of this country，All the extremes at this moment
都自然而然的发展的？让你伟大起来
Develop naturally，you are becoming great
一种你一时还觉察不到的
But you have no sense
躺在大地上的伟大
Of the greatness that sometimes lies close to the ground
这时你会惊奇的发现？来去匆匆的
At this moment，you will find amazingly that
黑人朋友？会一步一亦一回头的
Black friends in haste will
向你微笑？他们会不约而同的
Smile at you alike，one step，one look back，
竖起一只大拇指？向你问好
A thumb up to greet you
这时你会感到？这片没有冬天的土地？
And you will feel at this moment this land without winter
到处都弥漫着？田园诗的意境？
Is spread with the artistic concept of the pastoral
行走的人？飞过的鸟？飘过的云
Walking people，flying birds and floating clouds
一切？都会以诗的阵势融入你的怀中
All would melt into your embrace
你会惊奇的发现？这时你搂着的
You would find to your surprise that you are now holding
不是一个空洞的时段？游鼠一样
No empty period，like a wondering mouse
活泼好动的诗歌？会竞自手拉着手儿

这时我们可以把赤道想象成
Now we can imagine the Equator as
太阳拥抱地球时的
When the sun embrace the earth
两条粗壮的臂膀？把太阳想象成？
Two strong arms，and can imagine the sun as
一个体型十分巨大的？可以
A big sized
娶地球为妻的男人
Man who can marry earth as his wife
这时我们就是孩子？
Then we are children
是大地之母的
Of the earth mother
千千万万个孩子中的一个？
One of the innumerable children
我们可以把太阳想象成
We can imagine the sun as
已经复活了的？十年前
The resurrected father who died a
就已经过世的父亲
Decade ago
我们可以极尽想象之力去想象
We can do our best to imagine
父亲的伟岸？父亲的暴躁？
The greatness of the father and the hot temper of the father
父亲的忍辱负重和默默无语
Father’s fortitude，tolerance and silence
我们可以想象？太阳一眨眼？
