When I was a child，confused and in pain
睁大眼睛？无奈的目送父辈们
Opening my eyes to see my father and others

Being stuffed in a Jiefang brand vehicle
红卫兵和造反派们？关押在
As a iron jail
被焊成铁笼子的？解放牌汽车中

四周是难以想象的
The surroundings are hard to imagine

Crisis-ridden，this moment
兽？是这里的主人？
Beasts are the hosts of the place
土地？丛林？草原
Land，jungle and grassland
都归祖辈居住在这里的百兽所有
All belong to various beasts whose ancestors lived here
我是诗人？？我们是过客？？
I am a poet，we are passengers
看到威严无比的狮子？自然联想到那些？
Those mighty and awesome lions remind me of
满腹雄才大略的领袖
Those leaders with great talent and bold vision
看到漫山遍野？悠然自得的低头觅食的
All over the mountain there are flocks of foraging
